Summer School in Cairo's "City of the Dead"

12 July 2014

ARCHiNOS is using the opportunity of its current conservation project in the “City of the Dead” to carry out a summer school in documentation and preservation of cultural heritage as part of the Institute for Field Research programme. Foreign students team up with their volunteering Egyptian colleagues in a course of lectures, site visits, and documentation assignments. The course takes place in the middle of Egyptian summer, and coincides with Ramadan, the Muslim holy moth of fasting. This makes the task challenging, but still more interesting.
