From Pharaonic to Roman times in Karanis

The field work on the open-air museum presenting Pharaonic-period stone objects from Crocodilopolis on the site of ancient Karanis in Kom Aushim near the Fayyum Oasis has been completed. With the granite sculptures and architectural elements now conserved and put on display, the permanent exhibition has already attracted considerable attention locally, while it is awaiting the official opening soon. (Follow our news to learn when it happens!)
ARCHiNOS is now moving to another phase of work in Karanis: conservation, protection, and presentation of a small Roman bath.
