15 October 2017
Another art exhibition opened on 15 October 2017 in the maq‘ad of Sultan Qaitbey that ARCHiNOS conserved and adapted for a place of art and culture in Cairo’s “City of the Dead”. This was a result of three weeks’ long residency in Egypt of four distinguished Italian artists, supported by the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo in conjunction with an Italian cultural initiative I Martedi Critici.
Marco Colazzo, Stefania Fabrizi, Raffaele Fiorella, and Giancarlo Limoni worked in the mediaeval hall of the oratory of Gulshani – the first time the remarkable bulding was used for such purpose. They presented works in widely varied range of subjects and techniques that resulted from their reflections on Egyptian people, history, land, and culture during their stay in Cairo.
The exhibition remained open until 31 October 2017
