Work on Dangeil Temple Enters a New Phase
26 March 2015
Discussions in Sudan with the director of the archaeological expedition to Dangeil and with antiquities authorities helped finalise the concept design stage for protection and presentation of the site of an ancient temple that once marked a crossroads on gold-trading routes. ARCHiNOS now enters the stage of detailed designs for the visitors centre and site museum, a sheltering structure over the vulnerable remnants, and a plan for presentation to visitors. A strong sandstorm that ARCHiNOS team experienced on the site was a keen reminder of the harsh environment that the design has to take into account.
