Bathing with the Romans

19 March 2016

The “Romans” in this case were Hellenised Egyptians and Egyptianised Greeks who used a small public bath in a town at the edge of the Fayum oasis in Roman times some 1700 years ago. ARCHiNOS conserved the bath in 2014 - 2015. Now you can embark on a journey back in time on a website that ARCHiNOS has just launched. Visit to walk through the ancient bath, understand how it operated by viewing 3-D models, animations and plans, learn about bathing culture in the ancient world, watch the conservators at work in extensive photo galleries, and more. Enjoy your virtual journey in time!
