ARCHiNOS Presents Contemporary Art in Mediaeval Setting
21 October 2016
With the conservation of the building by ARCHiNOS nearing its end, the grand palatial hall where once Sultan Qaitbey entertained his guests on 21 October 2016 saw the opening of an installation by the Italian artist Paolo Peroni. The work was an artistic commentary on human interactions with natural and built environment. Outside, local craftsmen presented and sold their products, while children merrily enjoyed another colourful event in the “City of the Dead”.
Paolo Peroni’s residency in Cairo was sponsored by the Italian Cultural Centre.
