For three consecutive days: Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 11-13 July 2019, music of various kinds resounded in the area of Sultan Qaitbey’s maq‘ad. A blend of jazz improvisation with Oriental music, Sudanese rhythms charged with untamed energy, and vocal harmonies of a cappella singing delighted a very varied audience. The highlight of the event was the dancing and choral performance of the children from the neighbourhood, the fruit of creative workshops they participated in.

In an exhibition that accompanied the event, various Egyptian artists displayed their work reflecting in visual terms on the world of musical sound.
