Another Sultan’s Fair

11 December 2021

Whether Muslims or Christians, the Egyptians never miss an occasion to celebrate, so Christmas is a festive season for everybody. The ”Sultan’s Fair” on 18 December 2021 at the MASQ (Maq‘ad of Sultan Qaitbey neighbourhood cultural hub) brought together the local craftspeople of the Sultan Qaitbey neighbourhood and outstanding artisans from other areas of Cairo who presented and sold their products to a numerous and varied audience.
In the evening, the Egyptian musical trio Accordionella played a concert in front of the Maq‘ad of Sultan Qaitbey. This was another event staged at the MASQ as part of the Breaking Walls festival.
On the same day, the Cairo Runners concluded the year’s edition of their very popular and successful sports and movement programme for the local children with an excursion to the Children Park in Nasr City. In the evening, the children enjoyed attractions staged especially for them at the MASQ.

Social and cultural activities at the MASQ are carried out by ARCHiNOS and its sister not-for profit organisation the Sultan Foundation and are financed primarily by the Drosos Foundation and the European Union.
