A Green Initiative

5 October 2017

Shagrha is a volunteer initiative with the purpose of planting fruit trees in all regions of Egypt. On 5 October 2017, in cooperation with ARCHiNOS, a group of enthusiastic volunteers under Shagrha’s direction planted 75 trees in the Qaitbey area of the “City of the Dead” in Cairo, assisted by the equally enthusiastic local community.

A famous 17th-century Turkish traveller mentioned lavish gardens that Sultan Qaitbey laid out by his mausoleum in the Desert of the Mamluks, so we believe that our Master the Sultan would be pleased. We intend to continue with the initiative.
