New Art within Old Walls

6 May 2017

ARCHiNOS has completed the conservation of the mediaeval reception hall of Sultan Qaitbey, but the building adapted to be a space for art and culture in the “City of the Dead” in Cairo remains alive. The latest event is the art exhibition organised by ARCHiNOS and its not-for-profit arm, the Sultan Foundation, in cooperation with the Faculty of Applied Arts of Helwan University. In Sultan’s lofty hall, twenty-one Egyptian artists present their works in various styles and techniques.
Dr Isaak Azmy, the founder of the Design Centre Cairo, exhibits two paintings as a Guest of Honour.
As the exhibition opened on 5 May 2017, local craftspeople displayed their products in another “Sultan’s Fair”, while children enjoyed a training workshop in singing in another nearby building restored by ARCHiNOS.

If you are in Cairo, don’t miss the exhibition, which remains open until 25 May!
