Permanent Exhibition: Sabil Muhammad ‘Ali Pasha, Cairo

The permanent exhibition was installed in the Sabil Muhammad `Ali Pasha, which is located on the main street of mediaeval Cairo, after the monument was conserved by an American Research Center in Egypt’ project. The work included general concept of the display, research, design of the exhibits, text writing, and graphic design. The exhibition was designed to harmonise with historic interiors, and not to interfere with the authentic historic material. A leading historian of the period was involved in the work, which also resulted in the publication of a guide book.

The work was funded by the USAID, the European Union and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Cairo.
